Have you heard of a CEO? But what about a CIO, CMO, CCO, or CAO? There is more than a dozen of such positions in private companies, which are collectively called CxOs.
There are 5 main types of IELTS Task 2 essays:
- Opinion Essays
- Discussion Essays
- Problem Solution Essays
- Advantages & Disadvantages Essays
- Double Question Essays
Here’s the basic 4-part structure we recommend that you use for Task 2 essays:
1. Introduction
It should identify the question and outline your position. Don’t rush it as it is the first thing the examiner will read. First impressions count.
2. Main Body Paragraph 1
First /topic sentences of each paragraph should be clear and to the point. They should identify exactly what that paragraph is about and how it relates to the rest of the essay.
3. Main Body Paragraph 2
The practical tip is to keep the detail/clever ideas for the body of the paragraph. Start off general and then build towards the specific.
4. Conclusion
This is the easiest part of the essay normally. Most often, all you need to do is go back to the introduction and rephrase it.
IELTS is a globally-recognised test of the English language. It has become the world’s leading test to assess English language skills for those who require reliable evidence of such skills for immigration purposes and to find employment.
Top 5 benefits of passing IELTS are as follows:
1. You will get a certification that is widely recognised. By taking an IELTS test, you will receive a test report that is recognised and accepted not only by educational institutions but also companies, professional bodies and government agencies.
2. You will improve your English language skills. When you take an IELTS test, you are tested in all four skills, that is, Listening, Reading, Writing, and Speaking, so you’ll need to practise them all if you want to do well. If you take the IELTS Academic test, you will become more familiar with the kind of language required for undergraduate or postgraduate study in English.
3. You will get a valuable assessment of your English proficiency level, figure out the areas of improvement and work on those.
4. You will be more likely to get a lucrative job. Most of you must be willing to work abroad and get handsome salary packages. IELTS can be a leading factor to introduce you to the best career opportunities in foreign countries.
5. You will develop an appreciation for a different culture and familiarising yourself with it before you study or work in an English-speaking country. Individual sections of the IELTS test such as Reading expose you to texts of different styles from a variety of sources such as extracts from books, magazines, and newspapers.
The sort of information you include in each of the 4 sections will vary depending on the question type. We’ll go into each type of essay in more detail in the following posts. Don’t miss!
